On Wednesday 12th March year 4 had a Crafty Cuppa. Over 20 adults attended and we received very positive feedback. Mrs Fisher read the story ‘On the Way Home’ by Jill Murphy.

It tells the tale of how a girl’s imagination runs wild over how she has hurt her knee, meeting some famous ‘bad’ characters along the way. The children had to make predictions and suggest vocabulary at different parts in the story, they also had to think about the hidden message of the story and how this may relate to them.

While having a nice cup of tea or coffee the adults then supported the children in making a pin puppet or paper model of one of the characters of the story. The cutting and sticking for this was very intricate and both children and adults were very engaged. Some children designed their own bad character from the story. It was lovely to see so many adults, thank you, we hoped you enjoyed it. Next Crafty Cuppa Year 2 Wednesday 26th March where Sarah Downes from the School and Communities Team will join us and be available to answer any questions you might have. Keep your eyes on our newsletters for dates of the further Crafty Cuppas happening later in the year.
