Today, the Wonder Dome Planetarium came to visit Reception, Year 2 and Year 5! We had an amazing time being space explorers. The planetarium show took us on a tour of the solar system starts the journey of exploration. We learn about the International Space Station, the Moon, the planets in our solar system, the Milky Way and the Galaxy.
Classes linked Red Nose Day with Kindness Week this week, exploring themes of generosity and empathy. Pupils showcased red-themed items and participated in storytelling sessions designed to foster an understanding of charity and giving.
The new theme is MAGIC and our pupils had to build a wizard!

On Wednesday 12th March year 4 had a Crafty Cuppa. Over 20 adults attended and we received very positive feedback. Mrs Fisher read the story ‘On the Way Home’ by Jill Murphy.
The children had a wonderful time participating in a netball competition this week. 12 children took part and had a great time developing their skills they had previously learnt across PE and attending our after school netball club.
We all had a wonderful Valentine’s Day! Thank you to FOSA and all of our families for your continued support. It was smashing to see so much colour including pink and red, in school in support our Valentines themed non uniform day!
Our annual celebration took place on Thursday, March 6, after a special assembly led by Mrs Fisher, our English Lead our children spent the day enjoying curriculum linked workshops across the school led by our class teachers. This year’s theme at Upwell was ‘Fables’ and worked well with the National theme of ‘Read Your Way’ which aims to encourage children to see reading as a fun activity, rather than something they have to do as part of their school studies.
National Careers Week is a one-week celebration of careers guidance and free resources in education across the UK.
The New theme of 'Magic' was introduced for this half term. With a World Book Day theme, the children were asked to build a character from a book.

Bikeability is the Government’s flagship cycling training programme and is designed to give young people the skills and confidence to ride on today’s roads. Bikeability has been adopted as the chosen cycle training scheme by all but two local authorities in England.
