Mrs Marsters and our Year 6 children attended Norfolk Constabulary’s Anti-Social Behaviour Awareness Webinar this week.A member of Norfolk Constabulary’s Youth Engagement Team staff, along with a Safer Schools Police Officer, delivered the session.
The session started by asking our children what they know about the role of the police and why we do what they do. They then defined the term “anti-social behaviour” (ASB) and asked our Year 6’s if they can think of any examples of this. Many children have heard of the term “anti-social behaviour” and are able to think of examples and by giving them a legal definition of ASB, the hope to bring home the message that many types of ASB are also criminal behaviours and can have some serious consequences for individuals and communities.
The webinar helps to raise awareness of the 3 types of anti-social behaviour (personal, nuisance and environmental) and use examples to illustrate these.
It highlighted the age of criminal responsibility to emphasise that some of the behaviours in this scenario are also criminal behaviours and the people involved could be dealt with by the police.
Well done to our pupils and thank you to Mrs Marsters for organising for our children to take part. Children we presented with a certificate for active participation during our Celebration Assembly.
Norfolk Constabulary join us again soon for a whole school British Values Assembly.
